The Playing for Peace initiative started in the fall of 2010 when the men's lacrosse and men's basketball teams collaborated with offices all over campus to hold a 3v3 Basketball Tournament and Peace Rally to raise awareness for the expiration of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in Sudan.
The initiative has now grown to include several sports and mutliple basketball events that are used as a platform to bring people together around sporting events, while raising awareness for issues of serious social concern.
